Sam Barris - Famous Auto Customizer of the 1949 Mercury

In 1951, Sam Barris revealed a new customized Mercury coupe the world. He came out with the chopped top mercury that was amazing in design. It fit with the sleek lines of the mercury. This custom Merc was popular that it was shown at the 1952 Motorama auto show and became so popular it overshadowed anything Detroit had to offer that year! In fact, Barris’s custom work is the classic base in a lot of custom classic car designs even to this day.
